False Dilemma

“A given culture is only as strong as its power to convince its least dedicated members that its fictions are truth” – Haden White 1972: 6

“right and left both trading in a false reality” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6BOvprpI6c

“If you are going to have the audacity of rhetoric you have to have audacity of effort. If there is disappointment in Obama it is that he didn’t go down swinging. People would like to have seen more noble failure.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgAiR21Dw0I

Politics \ˈpä-lə-ˌtiks\ – a branch of audio-animatronics in which teleprompt personas replace elected officials in order to void any art of the possible for effecting genuine, socially constructive, change – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Penultimate_Truth #YanceMen #TheDogAndPonyShow https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mold_of_Yancy

“only exaggeration is true.” A skillful, admonic exaggeration uttered in the present is likely to become true only if its force is unfelt, only if it is left unsaid and unheard. Objectivity and clinical sterility obscures reality because it refuses to speculate on the unknowns that will be known only too late. But every principle san sincerity (every periodic sentence) can be turned into its opposite — there can be no automation of conscience, no steam-governor mechanism of subjectivities in check and balance. There exists no deterministic codification that cannot be subverted by a misuse of the spirit of the law. Physics is not morality, justice is not reducible to computation. The American experiment has failed, the illusions of money have overcome the realist system. All gods have failed; there is no true authoritarianism, no true self-correcting system of pecuniary equilibrium. In a social realm of hard agency the tamers are left untamed. There is no science of social justice and every attempt to conjure one has only led to a redistribution of suffering. (In)sincerity is a simultaneously immanent and transcendental fact of matter that is indeterminately undetectable. There is no indelible and literal literature. Interpretation exists perpetual and nothing that is infinite can be written in full. Equations are means not the end. People, sentient rēs are ends to which we owe our mutual empathies. There is nothing once born that is not busy dying.

“They constantly try to escape
From the darkness outside and within
By dreaming of systems so perfect that no one will need to be good.
But the man that is shall shadow
The man that pretends to be.”

the history of politics disproves the vulgar literalists and their simplistic materiality, appearance is not always reality, the one-to-one correspondence does not always obtain, Haraway transubstantiation and fiat currency performativity is no sure thing, sociality cannot be separated from philosophy, all theorists are embedded in their own brand of cosmology, why assume that technology is good so long as “the right people” control it, how can technology not be inherently bad while pejorative mysticism is assumed to be, how are all reasoned out beliefs not mystical to a degree of uncertainty (the judgement calls and contingencies) – color outside the lines and explode their false choices!
